⁶ A prophecy^(A) concerning the animals of the Negev:^(B)

¹¹ “Then I continued to watch because of the boastful words the horn was speaking.^(A) I kept looking until the beast was slain and its body destroyed and thrown into the blazing fire.^(B)

¹⁷ ‘The four great beasts are four kings that will rise from the earth.

¹⁹ “Then I wanted to know the meaning of the fourth beast, which was different from all the others and most terrifying, with its iron teeth and bronze claws—the beast that crushed and devoured its victims and trampled underfoot whatever was left.

⁴ I watched the ram as it charged toward the west and the north and the south. No animal could stand against it, and none could rescue from its power.^(A) It did as it pleased^(B) and became great.

¹² It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds.

⁶ Also in front of the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass,^(A) clear as crystal.

In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures,^(B) and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back.^{(C) 7} The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle.^{(D) 8} Each of the four living creatures^(E) had six wings^(F) and was covered with eyes all around,^(G) even under its wings. Day and night^(H) they never stop saying:

⁹ Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne^(K) and who lives for ever and ever,^(L)
